High School Committee 2019-20
Alexia OSTROLENK - Co-President
Alexia is a PhD student in Psychiatric Science at Université de Montréal. She studies hyperlexia, the precocious development of reading skills in autistic children. She started with BrainReach as a volunteer presenter, was French high school coordinator and is our high school co-president for the past 2 years. Alexia cares about communication science to everyone, especially young future scientists! Outside of the lab, she likes baking, dancing, reading, doing yoga, and collecting way too many plants. |
Eviatar FIELDS - Co-President
Eviatar is currently in the second year of his Ph.D degree in the Integrated Program of Neuroscience in the lab of Prof. Alanna Watt. He uses behaviour and electrophysiology to understand how aging affects the cerebellum with the goal of improving motor coordination in the elderly. In his spare time, Eviatar enjoys running, reading, playing soccer and playing the piano. |
Kaitlyn EASSON - English volonteers Coordinator
Kaitlyn is a second-year M.Sc. candidate in the Integrated Program in Neuroscience at McGill University. For her research project, Kaitlyn is using neuroimaging to investigate long-term alterations in white matter structure in survivors of neonatal critical illnesses. Outside of the lab, Kaitlyn’s interest include cooking and baking, skiing, and yoga! |

Anne MONNIER - Pedagogic Materials
Anne’s research focuses on visual attention connectivity, a phenomenon that is precursor of consciousness ! She dreams of discovering the neural signatures of states such as hypnosis, meditation or flow ! She is very excited about transmitting her passion of science to children and teenagers. When she is not in the lab, she is always surfing on a skate, on a snowboard, in the sea or in the air ! |
Béatrice DE KONINCK- French Volunteer Coordinator
Beatrice is a master’s student at Université de Montréal. Her main project focuses on the modulation of brain oscillations by non-invasive stimulation techniques. The greater objective is to apply these types of techniques to comatose patients in the hope of increasing their level of consciousness. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the guitar, reading books and swimming. |
Kenza IBRIR - French School Coordinator
Kenza is a master's student at the University of Montreal, currently working in the laboratory of Dr. Elana Pinchefsky at CHU Sainte-Justine. Her research project concerns concrete measures to improve the neurological outcome of new-borns congenital heart defects in the analysis of brain activity through EEG. In her spare time, she loves to read and cook! |
Jennifer SEBALI - Branch Coordinator - UdeM Material Manager
Jennifer is a master student in Neurosciences at Université de Montréal under the supervision of Dr. Alexandre Prat. Her research focuses on the migratory mechanisms of immune cells into the brain in Multiple Sclerosis. Through various activities, she strives to raise awareness within the community for Multiple Sclerosis. Outside the lab, she enjoys playing the guitar, hiking, and traveling. |
Sheida RABIPOUR - Material updating & fund raising
Sheida is a postdoctoral research fellow working with Dr. M. Natasha Rajah at the Douglas Hospital Research Centre. Her research explores ways to train the brain to improve cognitive function and mental health. Sheida is devoted to sharing knowledge about brain function and health to the public. Through various outreach activities, Sheida works to raise awareness about optimizing brain function throughout life. Her first book on brain training, How (Not) To Train The Brain, was recently published with Oxford University Press. |
